The Five Things You Can Do
Often when people have disabling medical conditions that prohibit them from working, they don't have the energy to fight the system and get the benefits they deserve. Before you give up, here's a list of five easy things you can do immediately to take action and improve your situation.
- Call one of our representatives who can answer your questions and send you additional information to read. The better informed you are, the more likely you are to make wise decisions about your situation, including hiring the expert help you need to be successful.
- Write down any information you can think of about your work history, including dates, salaries and types of work. This is critical in helping an attorney prepare your information for application, reapplication or hearings.
- Put any medical information you have in one place, including doctor names, visits and contact information, hospitalizations, lab reports, etc. that describe your situation. If you hire an attorney, this will help the legal staff collect as much information as possible to help define your disability.
- Provide anyone who is assisting you, especially legal staff, with current contact information at all times.
- Keep track of all correspondence, including phone calls, from SSA. If we represent you, we can also help you with this.
We sincerely hope that you get the benefits you deserve to improve the quality of your life.
